During the 66th WSSA Congress in Raleigh, NC, USA, HRAC hosted an interactive poster/oral symposium aimed at connecting technical herbicide resistance knowledge with practical field applications. Instead of a traditional poster gallery, the session featured a facilitated, rotating dialogue across five thematic discussion tables led by HRAC Global members. Topics included resistance terminology, digital HRAC resources and MoA Classification Poster, resistance database, validation criteria, and practices influencing the adoption of Integrated Weed Management by growers. Participants from academia, industry, and graduate students rotated through all tables for a focused, multidisciplinary exchange. HRAC sincerely thanks the Weed Science Society of America for its strong support and close collaboration in developing the symposium - from initial concept through successful delivery - together with HRAC Global and HRAC‑US. Insights from the session are being consolidated to guide future HRAC actions and resources.

We were proud to be a Silver Sponsor of the 8th International Weed Science Society Congress (IWSC), themed “Weed Science in a Climate of Change.” The event sparked important discussions on how climate change is increasingly challenging weed management strategies. Our booth served as a hub for engaging with academics, regulators, and weed science students on managing herbicide-resistant weeds within the framework of Integrated Weed Management.

We were proud to sponsor the 2024 Rothamsted Resistance Conference alongside IRAC and FRAC. This event brought together the three Global Resistance Action Committees (RACs) for herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides, creating a unique platform for meaningful dialogue.During the joint panel, we emphasized that effective resistance management requires a broad toolbox—where non-chemical practices like crop rotation remain central to Integrated Pest Management (IPM). At the same time, we highlighted the need for policymakers to recognize the essential role of chemical solutions within IPM, while continuing to prioritize sustainable, non-chemical approaches.

We also engaged with IRAC, FRAC, and Rothamsted researchers and are excited to share that a peer-reviewed perspective paper is coming soon! This paper will serve as a call to action for policymakers to adopt more flexible regulatory frameworks, ensuring farmers retain access to as many modes of action as possible. HRAC Global made a strong statement on herbicide resistance management with a vibrant presence at the 9th International Weed Science Congress (IWSC) in China! Our booth was a hit, and the team shared scientific insights and practical proof points within the Integrated Weed Management framework. We were inspired by the various feedback from researchers, students, and professors on the impact of our resistance management content.
